Deerfield Beach, FL. May XX, 2019 – Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line (BPCL), the only provider of two-night cruises from the Port of Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island, is proud to present the 2019 Pirate Fest on the High Seas aboard the Grand Classica.

sailing June 28 – June 30 in partnership with Allen Balogh, author of Black Sails 1715 and Johnny Ringo of Code Rum. Guests will set sail on an ocean adventure to remember—complete with a Lecture Series and a Pirate Ball. Florida handcrafted Code Rum will be on hand, and plenty of high jinks at sea.

The experience begins on Friday, June 28th with a rum voyage and followed by story-telling time. This session is a one of a kind. Attend a special panel series like no other. You can hear from a stunning array of artists, authors, treasure hunters and pirate experts, all gathered together in one spot, just for your entertainment! A full garb, pirate dinner will follow the event. 

Day two will commence on Grand Bahama Island. Guests are free to explore, go on a shore excursion, or join in with the crew as they invade the island in full pirate garb. In the early evening, there will be a Pirates Ball that includes contests, games, and giveaways plus live music from A Tribe, and a meet-and-greet with legendary treasure hunters, expert historians, skillful authors, and modern-day pirates. 

The Official Charity of the “Greatest Pirate Fest on the High Seas” will be the Michael Abt Jr. “Have a Heart Foundation”.

Taffi and Nichole Fisher-Abt—daughter and granddaughter of the late, great Mel Fisher—will examine the shipwrecks and treasures of the Atocha, the Santa Margarita, and the 1715 Fleet. 

Relive some of the greatest treasure finds with Capt. Carl “Fizz” Fismer, world-famous treasure hunter. 

Watch Don Maitz, “Pirate Artist Extraordinaire” and the creator of the famous Captain Morgan Rum illustration, explain his working techniques of art during the Age of Piracy. 

Hear Allen Balogh, the author of Black Sails 1715, discuss the Golden Age of Piracy, the 1715 Fleet and “Pyrates” of the Treasure Coast.” 

Rates begin at $259 per person. All prices are based on double occupancy and do not include taxes, fees, and gratuities. Taxes and port fees are $88.44 per person. Gratuities are $27.90 per person. Guests may reserve a cabin with only a $100 deposit. The full balance is due by May 28th.
