On board the Grand Celebration, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has a special musical treat stowed away for our cruisers; for the sailings of January 14th & 15th we will have on board the Sodre International Youth Orchestra from Uruguay! This very talented orchestral group will be performing for our guests on board our amazing ship! They will being touring the U.S. and we’re honored to be hosting them on one of their stops along the way! The Sodre International Youth Orchestra is a nationwide program that promotes the study of music and uses music as a tool for human, social, and intellectual development amongst Uruguayan children and youth. This is a widely respected program which promotes and instills great values in the participants.
This musical program is imbued with rhythm and passion, and you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to catch an amazing show that will provide beautiful music with different instrumental configurations that make up this symphonic genre. The program also features work from a traditional Symphonic repertoire, Tango, Folklore and Candombe; and for those of you who are unfamiliar with Candombe, here’s a little insight into it… Candombe is Uruguayan music and dance which derives from African slaves, recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and is considered a very important facet to the Uruguayan culture.
